Creating Training Plans in MindPower Builder

  1. Start the MindPower Builder program on your Professional (office) system.
  2. Click on the “Advanced” or “Advanced Interface” button.
  3. The Advanced Interface opens up under “Select Player.”  Be sure to Select the appropriate player to create the Plan.
  4. There are multiple different paths that can be followed to create a plan:  Using the Test Batteries, Selecting Cognitive Skills, or Adding Programs “Ala Carte.”


Using the Test Battery

  1. Click on the Test Menu button in the upper left corner of the screen.
  2. There are 9 different tests, each lasts about 5 minutes.  A full testing session to run through all the tests will last approximately 45 minutes.  You can shorten your session by selecting a number from the “Run ___ Tests” near the bottom of the screen or you can press the Esc key during testing to stop testing at that point.  Testing will always resume from where you left off the last session.
  3. Press “Start Testing” at the bottom to begin.
  4. Once the Testing has completed, go to the “Training Recommendations” button on the upper left side of the screen.
  5. Press the “Create Training Plan” button and follow the on-screen prompts.
  6. More information is available under “Help” from within the program.
  7. Any time you make a change to a Training Plan for a Cloud Player, be sure to return to the “Select Player” screen and press the “Sync Selected Player” to move those changes up to the Cloud database.

Selecting Cognitive Skills

  1. Click on the “Edit Training Plan” button on the left side of the screen.
  2. Click on the button for “Cognitive Skills Selector” under the “Available Exercises” list in the center of the screen.
  3. At the top of the screen, choose up to 4 of the available skills listed.  The programs trained by those skills will begin populating the list boxes below for “Match 4 of 4, Match 3 of 4, etc.”
  4. Begin choosing programs from the highest matched list (i.e., 4 of 4 then 3 of 4, then 2 of 4) and click the “Add Selected” button to add those programs to your list.  This way, you maximize the focus of the training to exercises that train multiple selected skills at once. You can use the “Run Selected” button to try the program out if you are unsure what it does.
  5. When done, click the “Create Plan” button on the right.
  6. Any time you make a change to a Training Plan for a Cloud Player, be sure to return to the “Select Player” screen and press the “Sync Selected Player” to move those changes up to the Cloud database.

Selecting Programs Ala Carte

  1. Click on the “Edit Training Plan” button on the left side of the screen.
  2. Select Exercises from the “Available Exercises” list in the center of the screen and press the “Add” button to move those over ot eh “Current Plan” list.
  3. Continue until you have a list of exercises in the Training Plan.  You can use the drop down menu above the “Available Exercises” list to sort the exercises there by cognitive skill, module, etc. to simply the task.
  4. Any time you make a change to a Training Plan for a Cloud Player, be sure to return to the “Select Player” screen and press the “Sync Selected Player” to move those changes up to the Cloud database.
