Our SmartMind system does require that the healthcare professional using it have the knowledge, training and understanding of how to use neurofeedback. Our system can be used in the same way as many other similar software packages. One approach is to work with someone locally who knows how to implement neurofeedback and have them provide training and supervision.
There are relevant neurofeedback books that can be purchased and reviewed (a small sample is below) to get started and/or visit www.isnr.org or www.aapb.org for more information about training materials.
Small List of Suggested Reading Materials
Getting Started with Neurofeedback – by John Demos
Introduction to Quantitative EEG and Neurofeedback – James Evans
Handbook of Neurofeedback: Dynamics and Clinical Applications – James Evans
A Consumer’s Guide to Understanding QEEG Brain Mapping and Neurofeedback Training – Robert E. Longo
We also have an article that walks through a general guideline of the procedures required to start training with a client in SmartMind. It describes the features and limitations of each Clinician screen and how they can be used with your selected training protocol.
